Interventional radiology (“IR”) is a medical specialty that uses imaging guidance (such as x-rays, CT scans, or ultrasound) to perform minimally invasive therapies for a variety of diseases almost anywhere in the body. You will engage in all areas involved in patient care from the image interpretation to the evaluation of new patients. The integrated IR residency and independent IR residency with or without ESIR are available to medical students and diagnostic radiology residents who want certification in interventional radiology.
